Kobre & Kim is a litigation firm with offices in New York, Washington, DC,
Miami and London. The firm specializes in litigation against banks,
futures intermediaries, investment companies, and professional services
firms on behalf of institutional investors. The firm also represents
institutional and private clients in government investigations and
enforcement actions.
IridiumGroup was selected to redesign the firm's website, and we offered
several creative solutions, two of which are below. The chosen direction is
now live at www.KobreKim.com. The site was designed to offer a clearer and
cleaner visual, making navigation simple and putting information at the
forefront.

For 3 years, Betsy has served IridiumGroup and our clients as account manager to ensure that everything we create is ultimately on-message and on-brand, not to mention on-time and on-budget. Basically, think of Betsy as our "ON-button."
1. Maybe we can hear a little about your background first. Born, raised and educated where?
Born and raised in Salisbury, on the Eastern Shore of Maryland - also home of crab cakes and Perdue chicken. Educated at Georgetown University, class of '99.
2. What did you do before coming to our firm?
I started my career in film, working in development, which meant reading a lot of scripts and writing notes on them. I also spent a few months working at "The Late Show with David Letterman" (never met him - which seems like a blessing now) before transitioning into the world of design and branding.
3.What's your favorite part of this job?
I love our team, it's such a blessing to come to work and see friends. Beyond that, I think it's amazing that we get to make things everyday. Not many people are lucky enough to be creative for a living.
4. On time off, what do you like to do for personal interests?
I have a bike here and riding through the city gives me a new taste of freedom, even though it can be a little stressful sometimes. But my favorite thing is probably to walk the streets of NYC - any given route can be a combination of humor, inspiration and awe.
5. Favorite place to visit?
I'm a beach person at heart. Growing up surrounded by water, it just makes me feel centered and relaxed. Many of my fondest memories grew out of moments when I was seaside.
6. Name one favorite book, play or film (or other cultural interest).
I'm an avid filmgoer, but if I had to pick a favorite, it'd be "Rear Window." As a city-dweller it's an interesting take on a neighborhood and relationships between people and the way they see each other. Plus, it's suspenseful, stars Grace Kelly and Jimmy Stewart, with Edith Head costumes, and Hitchcock directing - you can't get better than that.
7. The management of the creative process can be pretty challenging. How do you know when the team is on-target?
That's a tough question. This is such a collaborative endeavor, so I think we all have a challenge - from designer to client to account manager - to voice opinions and make sure we are adequately meeting the demands of the job. It's all about asking questions and then following through on the answers, no matter what stage of design we are in.
8. From the client side, what makes the results more effective? What can clients do to facilitate this work?
I enjoy it when the client is completely transparent about what is driving the project or the decision-making. We can drill down and figure out a solution to any design problem, we just need more information.
9. Scariest thing you ever did?
I went paragliding in Jackson Hole a few years ago. We took a gondola to the top of the mountain and got strapped in, no big deal. Then my instructor told me to run as hard as I could off the edge of the mountain. So yeah, that part was a little intimidating and pretty frightening. And I'd absolutely do it again.
